Beyond This Point. Beyond right now and into the future. The band Beyond This Point was created in 2007 by lead singer/songwriter Travis Mendes & composer Jon Campbell, who shared similar thoughts on where they wanted to take their talents and careers in the music industry. The mission: to create and perform not just quality music, but groundbreaking music. To write songs that evoked emotion and admiration from those who listened. To knock down the invisible barriers created by the music industry in the form of “genre” while, at the same time, creating their own lane. This is Alternative Soul. This is Beyond This Point.
With the addition of producer Mylon Hayde, drummer Bernard Julien, singer Brandon Hall, bass guitarist Andre Lyles, and guitarist Joe Scuccimari, BTP have developed a loyal following of fans who show up to every show and help to spread the word to other music lovers. They have performed all over the Tri-State area, from New York City, to Long Island & New Jersey at venues including S.O.B.’s, Santos Party House, Five Towns College and, in December 2009, won the top prize at the prestigious iStandard Next Top Single Showcase at Don Hills in Downtown Manhattan after performing their single, “Future 2 Future.”
BTP is currently putting the finishing touches on a new mixtape entitled “This Is A Mixtape?”, and a 2nd mixtape featuring production by Illmind (50 Cent, LL Cool J, Little Brother), among others. A highly anticipated EP will be released late 2010. Spread the word: Beyond This Point can not be denied. This is what you have been waiting for.

*Selection: The cut-off date for contest entry and online votes is one weeks (7 days) prior to the Local Battle, unless specially-noted for that individual area. So for example, if your Local Battle is on a Saturday, the deadline to submit is one Saturday prior, as the clock hits midnight at the end of that night. For the online metrics, current site 'plays' are weighted heavier, and 'ratings' are used as a secondary metric. All plays and ratings are counted at the submission deadline, unless artists are notified of a voting extension in their region. All votes are subject to qualification and review, to ensure legitimate voting. For the judge selections, music industry professionals along with the show producers choose two or more artists to compete in each Local Battle, for a total of three (or four) artists competing at each Local Battle. Selected finalists will be announced at least 3 days prior to the Local Battle.
In order to be eligible for the prize, contestants must be either (I) affiliated with SESAC as a songwriter or (ii) eligible for affiliation with SESAC as a songwriter (i.e. not affiliated with ASCAP or BMI) (the "Eligibility Requirement"). In the event any single entry consists of two (2) performers, then at least fifty percent (50%) of the songwriters in such performance group must meet the Eligibility Requirement. In the event any single entry is comprised of three (3) or more performers, then at least fifty one percent (51%) of the songwriters in such performance group must meet the Eligibility Requirement.
