In two short years, Daylight Broadcast has conquered what is left of their music scene. Five friends, who had all been in various other bands together, formed in December of 2007. After a slow start, as far as recordings go, they continued to build a local fan base that was rivaling all other locals. After a few member changes, Daylight Broadcast returned to it’s current and original line up in February of ’09 and released their first EP, “Home is Where You Make It” in May. In March of ’09, the band entered Campus Music Fest, a national battle of the bands competition. After winning the regional, the band prepared for the epic journey that lay before them. They were flown to Los Angeles to compete in the nationals in June and won!

In the midst of being a hard working band, however, they always make sure to meet new friends at out of town shows to party with, and for whatever reason, always succeed. Whether it be playing beer pong in a strangers apartment who was out of town, but their friend had the key, or jumping through fences (yes through, like the boards) at 7 o’clock in the morning because they felt like it, they love partying with new friends!!

Just recently, they traveled to Alabama to record an EP with Andy Jackson (previously of Hot Rod Circuit, Say Anything, Taking Back Sunday, and currently in Death in the Park) at Jackalope Studios. They quickly made friends, given their similar tastes in music and other activities. The band recorded what they feel is the best stride towards the sound they’ve been trying to create over the past two years. After the mixing process, and a bit of ghost riding the van, the band returned home feeling accomplished and victorious.

Daylight Broadcast is currently planning an epic CD release for their upcoming EP in early 2010. They have continued to build their fan base locally, as well as in Louisiana, Houston, Austin, and surrounding areas. Amazing things are soon to come and they are definitely looking forward to it.
