Biography

I'm a to-be 4th year English/French student at UC Berkeley, with music and Shakespeare on the side as well as extensive foreign film marathons and baking sessions. I've tried out a lot of instruments, but always come back to guitar and piano, although I still love my banjo, and the violin Andrew Bird signed for me. My songs are alter-egos, photographs of moments and character pieces, they help me remember either ideas I was working on at a certain time, or people that tweaked the ideas I thought I held. The songs keep shifting meaning, and sometimes I have to confront them as strangers in a set list, but the journey back to "old friends" status is always worth the nerve-wracking effort.

I review music for the Daily Californian to keep a finger on the pulse of independent music and culture, and I would be more than ecstatic to continue criticism into a full-time complement to a performing career.
