Naree’s music style draws from rock, classical, indie and even Asian rock! Her music falls into the Pop Rock category, and has been compared to Fall Out Boy, The All-American Rejects, Panic at the Disco and All Time Low. As well as playing acoustic guitar, piano and drums, Naree writes all her own material and always co-produces her work.
Naree has been into music from a young age but it became so much more to her when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 14. She battled
through two operations, a massive pulmonary embolism, the extraction of a 15.4 lb tumour, and much more. But hope always remained constant and she used music to help her get through the experience. Naree is a survivor.
Her music speaks in a way that brings us closer to the ups and downs of her life. It helps put our own lives into perspective. With a will unmatched by most mature adults, this now 22-year old has gone on to follow her dream of becoming a singer/songwriter and performer. With the ability to see deep into her audience's souls, Naree brings out the best in everyone.
Although originally hailing from the Middle East with Thai and English parents, Naree currently resides in Boston, MA where she completing her bachelor degree in songwriting from Berklee College of Music.
Her first two independently released albums, I’m No Fool (2004), Proud (2005) and In This Life Or The Next (2007), which featured her playing acoustic guitar
and were helmed by outside producers, laid the groundwork for the career she’s building now with her Boston based band - Tony Song (lead guitar),
Casey Marks (bass), Jaime Jimenez (keys and synth) and Carl Harkness (drums).
Over the last year, Naree and this incredible unit have built a growing following in the region with gigs at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston,O’Brien’s Pub in Allston, MA and TT The Bears and All Asia in the college town of Cambridge.
Now forging ahead together as a band, still under the name of Naree, expect more catchy songs with the release of new album Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde early 2010 along with exciting themed live shows! Naree is putting their own twist on the pop rock world so make sure to stay tuned!
