College Battle of the Bands has teamed up with CMF and the Elfenworks Foundation to reward musicians whose messages relate to poverty or inequality in America. Congratulations to last year's winners that earned $5,000 in cash grants, including Eyeshine for their song "Alone", which took home the first place prize, and runners-up "This Time" by The Constant and "Lost and Forgotten" by Tsavo. Now it's your turn.
How it Works
College Battle of the Bands participants across the nation are invited to submit relevant songs along with brief written statements about how their music ties into a social justice cause -- including issues relating to hunger, homelessness, access to medial care, abuse, incarceration, or more. This year, you're encouraged to look at how fear or hope might be contributing to poverty and/or inequality in our country.
The top entries will be recognized at College Battle of the Bands Finales throughout the 2009-2010 Tour, making thousands of college students aware of the issues. Winning bands will also have an opportunitiy to earn $5,000 in cash grants at the National Finals. Become in "Harmony with Hope" with the Elfenworks Foundation and this special prize.
