TSAVO (Seattle, WA) is a group of unlikely individuals who have found each other, and remained a unit, despite extreme distances, vastly differing musical tastes, incredibly different personalities, and an album that almost broke them as a band. Yet, these are the stories that live on in our minds, and much like the forging of metal, only extremes such as these produce a great end product.
Musically, TSAVO is a blend of various modern rock sounds. The band's sound can be attributed to many aspects, the most prevalent being a classically trained vocalist in Cameron Mueller, multiple technical, interweaving guitar parts, and an accomplished rhythm section. Employing multiple techniques found in all genres of rock (pop, alternative, even progressive), Tsavo brings a diverse sound to an analogous field of music.
When the band was born via a late 2006 a classified ad, none of the members of Tsavo knew (possibly excluding its mastermind, Mueller) that the project would take each of them to the heights they have been. They have impressed audiences since their arrival in the local scene in late 2006, and as a result have developed a large, dedicated fan base. They have shared the stage with some of the most original and impressive acts in Seattle and Portland, as well as some notable national acts, such as King's X, TrustCOMPANY, The Dreaming, and VAST. They have also released "The Search", their first full length LP, to rave reviews. Some other notable accomplishments include achieving first place in the 2007 Bodog Battle of the Bands for the state of Washington, and in 2008 they won first place in Gibson and AT&T’s Campus Music Fest for the Northwest Region. They are currently writing new material, touring locally in support of their recently released album, and plan on west coast tours in the coming months.
